Murano Blue, White & Aventurine Glass Zanfirico Fazzoletto Vase

Description

A stunning Venetian glass "fazzoletto / handkerchief" vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Decorated with stripes of white and blue zanfirico lattice filigree, and copper aventurine.

Size

Measures approx 4.5 inches tall by 5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. The rough "broken" or "snapped off" pontil mark on the base is perfectly normal for thin hand blown glass such as this, it's just the natural scar left behind when it was removed from the blowing pipe (see final picture).
