Salviati Murano Zanfirico & Aventurine Glass Bowl + Plate Set

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian glass finger bowl and plate set, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Decorated with alternating stripes of white zanfirico lattice filigree, some trimmed in copper aventurine. Made by Salviati, similar items are shown in the book "Italian Glass - Century 20" by Leslie Pina, page 139.

Size

Bowl measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 5.25 inches in diameter at widest point.
Plate measures approx 1.25 inches tall by 7 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a minor manufacturing flaw to the plate - a thin raised trail of extra glass, shown in final picture.
