Murano Faceted, Textured Purple & Blue Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful chunky, part textured Venetian glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. A generic design made by Mandruzzato and Campanella. Also found with Bucella Cristalli labels. Bucella was a retailer who also had a grinding and polishing business of "rough" pieces supplied by other factories. In a stunning combination of greyish purple glass cased in bands of blue glass, which are further encased in an angular block of clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. Still bears the original generic Murano label.

Size

Measures approx 5.25 inches tall by 5.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a tiny fleabite nick to one side edge, shown in final picture (just off centre of the photo). Also has some intact manufacturing air bubbles, shown in next to last picture.
