Murano Faceted Red & Amber Sommerso Glass 1950s Block Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This style of glassware is usually attributed to Mandruzzato, although other manufacturers have made similar items, including Oball, Campanella and V. Nason. In a stunning combination of red glass cased in a band of amber glass, which is further encased in an angular block of pale blue glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Measures approx. 6.75 inches tall by 2 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a tiny fleabite to one side edge, shown in final picture.
