Ferro & Lazzarini Murano Blue & Green Sommerso Glass Basket Vase

Description

A Venetian organic glass basket shaped vase or bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Attributed to the Ferro & Lazzarini factory, based on a very similar example with the same flattened style handle, and their factory label, that was shared in a Murano Facebook group. Reference: [click here]. In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 7.5 inches tall by 7.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a couple of tiny nicks to the base rim, shown in final picture. To be extremely fussy, the piece is not perfectly symmetrical, as one side of the "handle" is more curved than the other (see pictures).
