Ferro & Lazzarini Murano Green & Blue Sommerso Glass Basket Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian organic glass basket shaped vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Attributed to the Ferro & Lazzarini factory, based on a very similar example with the same flattened style handle, and their factory label, that was shared in a Murano Facebook group. Reference: [click here]. In a stunning combination of green glass encased in blue glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 7.75 inches tall by 6.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a manufacturing flaw - a blob of extra glass, to one side, shown in final picture.
