A stunning large Czech
amber + uranium green glass candlestick. Made by the Mstisov
glassworks, and designed by Frantisek Zemek
in the 1950's, pattern number 53105
. This piece is shown in the 1958 Czech Glass Review, kindly provided online by Jindřich Pařík [link
]. The small amounts of Uranium in the glass cause this vase to glow bright green in UV light, something I've never seen before with Mstisov glass.
Measures approx 8 inches tall by 5.25 inches in diameter at widest point.
Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
