Iwatsu Japanese Multicoloured Cased Glass Retro Basket Vase

Description

A multicoloured cased glass basket shaped vase, made in Japan by the Iwatsu glassworks, part of their Hineri range.  Often mistaken for Murano glass, but items from this range can be found with labels that read "IW, Hineri, Made in Japan". This item still bears the original import label which reads "Best Art Glass, Foreign". Consists of red, yellow and blue swirls encased in clear glass. Has a shallow concave polished pontil to the base.

Size

Measures approx 8 inches tall by 5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
