John Walsh Pair of Vaseline / Uranium Glass Thorn Vases

Description

A stunning pair of Victorian 1890's British glass "thorn" vases.  Consist of a tubular yellow green glass flower holder with opalescent white band just below the rim, rustic stylised tree root "feet", and pulled out thorns.  Similar items are shown in the book Victorian Decorative Glass by Mervyn Gulliver, page 98.  Most likely made by John Walsh Walsh from Birmingham, England.  Made in vaseline/uranium glass, which glows bright green in UV light.

Size

Measure approx 3.75 inches tall by 2.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a nibble to one thorn on each vase, shown in final pictures.
