John Walsh Victorian Vaseline/Uranium Glass Thorn Vase

Description

A stunning Victorian 1890's British glass "thorn" vase. Consists of an opalescent yellow green glass flower holder with rustic stylised tree root "feet", and pulled out thorns. A similar vase is shown in the book Victorian Decorative Glass by Mervyn Gulliver, page 98. Most likely made by John Walsh Walsh from Birmingham, England. Made in vaseline/uranium glass, which glows bright green in UV light.

Size

Measures approx 3.5 inches tall by 2 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

As usual with these items there are a couple of small nibbles to the feet and thorns, but nothing serious, and all shown in final pictures.
