Czech/Swedish? Neodymium/Alexandrite Lilac Glass Swan

Description

A stunning glass sculpture of a swan or duck, made in very unusual and quite rare neodymium glass (also known as alexandrite glass), which changes colour according to different lighting conditions!! Appears lilac in natural sunlight or yellow artificial light, and smoky blue in fluorescent/white light (see pictures)! This is due to the presence of neodymium oxide (Nd²O³) in the glass..

Possibly made by the Zelezny Brod Czech glassworks, who are known to make similar items in this type of glass. Could also be Swedish.

Size

Measures approx 6.5 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than some small nicks to the base, shown in final picture.
