Arte Nuova Pustetto & Zanetti Murano Red & Amber Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian organic glass vase or bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Arte Nuova in the 1950's/60's, unmarked. Other examples from this range with the same distinctive stylised leaf design can be found online, sometimes baring labels which read "Arte Nuova Murano, Grand Prize, Genuine Venetian Glass, World Fair Brussels 1958". Other examples have a label which reads "Arte Nuova Murano, Pustetto & Zanetti, Made in Italy". The factory was open only for a relatively short time, from 1954 to 1965. In a stunning combination of orangey red glass encased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.

Measures approx 4 inches tall by 10.25 inches in diameter at widest point.
