Murano Venetian Blue & Uranium Sommerso Glass Vase / Jug

Description

Here is a wonderful tall Venetian glass stem vase in the style of a jug, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of turquoise blue glass cased in pale uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The small amounts of uranium in the glass cause this vase to glow bright green in UV light. Still bears the Hans Geismar import label (very worn).

Measures approx 12 inches tall by 3.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
