Fratelli Toso Murano Copper Aventurine Blue Glass Bowl - Labelled

Description

Here is a beautiful large and heavy 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl / ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was made by Fratelli Toso, and designed by Ermanno Toso. Similar items from this range can be seen in the book "Italian Glass: Century 20" by Leslie Pina, pages 168 - 171. In a stunning combination of blue and opaque white cased glass, with copper aventurine patches. Still bears the blue "Murano Glass" label used exclusively on Fratelli Toso pieces (worn).

Measures approx. 2.75 inches tall by 10.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a tiny nick to the rim, shown in final picture.
