Arte Nuova? Murano Pink & Amber Sommerso Glass Bowl or Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful large and heavy (2.6kg unpacked) Venetian organic glass bowl or posy vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy.  Possibly made by Arte Nuova in the 1950's/60's, unmarked. In a stunning combination of pink and amber glass encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 5.5 inches tall by 14.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of highly polished flattened areas to the top rim, which could just be the way it was made, or could possibly be restoration (ground out small chips), impossible to know really. I've tried to shown this in the final two pictures. Probably just me fussing over nothing, but I like to be accurate!
