Arte Nuova Murano / Venetian Pink & Amber Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

A fantastic organic glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of pinkish red glass cased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. Made by Arte Nuova / Pustetto & Zanetti, unmarked. Very similar designs with the same characteristic crease can be found online (see final photo) with their factory label with reads "Arte Nuova Murano, Grand Prize, Genuine Venetian Glass, World Fair Brussels 1958". The factory was open only for a relatively short time, from 1954 to 1965.

Size

Measures approx 5.75 inches tall by 2.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a manufacturing air bubble near the edge of the base rim which has turned white, see next to last picture.
