Cristallo Venezia Murano Green & Amber Sommerso Glass Basket Bowl

Description

Here is a magnificent large and heavy (1.7kg unpacked) 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass sculpture bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Most likely made by the Cristallo Venezia CCC glassworks. In a stunning combination of green glass cased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 8.75 inches tall by 10 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a manufacturing flaw / crease in the glass surface near the base, shown in final picture.
