AVEM Murano Pink & White Silver Leaf Glass Clam Vase & Pearl

Description

Here is an exquisite 1950/60's Venetian glass clam shaped vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was made by AVEM (Arte Vetraria Muranese), pattern number 13343. The design is shown in the book "AVEM, Arte Vetraria Muranese, Artistic Production 1932 - 1972" by Marc Heiremans, page 217. Consists of opal white lattimo glass filled with silver leaf inclusions, with an outer layer of speckled pink glass, all of which is then encased in clear glass. Contained inside is a removable clear glass pearl which is also filled with silver leaf. The vase is designed with two flat "bases", which allow it to be displayed vertically or at an angle.

Size

Measures approx 4.25 (or 3.5 if angled base is used) inches tall by 5.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
