AVEM Murano Zanfirico Bizantino / Tutti Frutti Red Glass Vase

Description

Here is an exquisite 1950/60's Venetian glass mini vase or match holder, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was made by AVEM (Arte Vetraria Muranese), from the range known as 'Tutti Frutti', similar items are shown in the book "AVEM, Arte Vetraria Muranese, Artistic Production 1932 - 1972" by Marc Heiremans (pages 106-109, 209, 218 and 222).  Decorated with silver leaf, white zanfirico lattice filigree, twisted ribbon canes, and copper aventurine.  All of this is surrounded with an inner casing of red glass, and an outer clear glass casing.

Size

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 2.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a very tiny manufacturing flaw to one side - a tiny speckle of extra glass, very slightly raised up from the surface. I've tried to show this in the final picture, but it really just looks like a small scratch.
