Archimede Seguso Murano Zanfirico Red, Yellow & Black Glass Bowl

Description

This is a magnificent 1950's Venetian sculptural glass bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made in thick clear glass, filled with alternating strands of black (or very dark brown) zanfirico lattice filigree, and twisted red and yellow ribbons. Made by the Archimede Seguso factory, this range is shown in the book "Archimede Seguso, Mid-mod Glass From Murano" by Leslie Pina, pages 85 - 88, and also the book "Murano Glass 1910-1970: Theme and Variations" by Marc Heiremans, page 94, described as "canne trasversale" and dated circa 1955.

Measures approx 2 inches tall by 3.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
