Murano Gold Leaf & Bullicante Amber Glass Vintage Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of amber & clear cased glass, with loads of gold leaf inclusions, and a controlled bubble effect called bullicante. The bullicante technique was invented by Archimede Seguso in 1936, and consists of multiple layers of tiny bubbles in controlled alignments, giving an effect like boiling water.
