Murano Venetian Orange & White Filigree Glass Vase w Gold Leaf

Description

Here is a wonderful small Venetian glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Decorated with stripes of orange & white filigree strands, with applied clear glass frilled decoration around the rim, filled with gold leaf inclusions.

Please note: Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase. Small vases like this were often used to hold flower heads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments.
