Chřibská #463/5/28 Czech Pink & Clear Glass Bowl by Josef Hospodka

Description

A wonderful, large, and very heavy (1.4 kg unpacked) Czech glass sculptural bowl / ashtray. In a stunning combination of pink glass encased in clear glass, with a ribbed / pleated pattern. Made by the Chřibská glassworks, probably designed by Josef Hospodka, pattern number 463/5/28. Shown in a 1999 Chřibská catalogue, see last image (with kind permission, and copyright of Jindřich Pařík www.CzechGlassGuide.cz). Still bears the original generic "Bohemia Glass" label (worn).

Size

Measures approx 4 inches tall by 11 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of minor manufacturing flaws to one side, which appear to be tiny clusters of bubbles or maybe ash caught up in the glass mixture. Shown in final picture.
