Welz Pair of Czech Red & Black Glass Art Deco Tango Vases

Description

A superb pair of 1930's Czech/Bohemian orangey red blown glass vases with applied black glass rims. Made by the Franz Welz glassworks, this particular shape with the flattened base is a known Welz design, which can also be found in their other decors. Ref: [click here]. Known as "mono-coloured" or "tango" glass, this technique was developed by Loetz around 1914.
