Welz Bohemian Blue & Cadmium Yellow Glass 'Vertical Stripes' Vase

Description

A superb 1930's/40's Czech blue & yellow blown glass posy vase. Can appear green due to the yellow being seen through the blue layer. Made by Franz Welz, part of the 'Vertical Stripes' pattern range. Reference: [click here]. The inside layer glows bright yellow under UV light, due to the presence of cadmium sulphide in the glass mixture. Would originally have had a metal flower frog / grill, but this is now missing.

Measures approx 5 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a tiny fleabite to the base, shown in final picture.
