Mdina 'Tiger' Maltese Blue & Brown Glass Vase - Signed

Description

A wonderful sandy brown and turquoise blue Maltese glass vase, by Mdina, signed to the base and labelled.  The pattern is known as Tiger, and was introduced in the mid 1970's by Eric Dobson, see the book 'Michael Harris Mdina Glass & Isle of Wight Studio Glass by Mark Hill, page 52.

Please note:  Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase.  Small vases like this were often used to hold flower heads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments.

Size

Measures approx 4.25 inches tall by 2.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. On close inspection, there are a couple of tiny dots of extra glass to the edge of the rim, a minor flaw from the manufacturing process, shown in final picture.
