Edward Bolton Victorian Pressed Glass 'Grace Darling' Boat Bowl

Description

A wonderful Victorian clear pressed glass boat shaped flower head or celery bowl.  Made by British company Edward Bolton, design registration number 39414, which was registered on 11th December 1885. Has the words "Grace Darling" embossed on the stern/rear (the first and last letter "G" cannot be seen, apparently this is quite common). Grace Darling was one of the Victorian era's most celebrated heroines. She was an English lighthouse keeper's daughter, who risked her life to help rescue of survivors from the shipwrecked Forfarshire on 7th September 1838.

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 11 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a small, faint bruise mark to the inside base, shown in final picture.
