Heppell Victorian Malachite / Slag Glass Nautilus Shell Vase

Description

A wonderful Victorian vase or raised bowl in purple & white marbled malachite glass, also known as slag glass, with nautilus shell design. Made by W. H. Heppell & Co. Has the registered design lozenge on the inside, see second photo. This lozenge translates to design number 374437, which was registered by William Henry Heppell on 6th Dec 1881. This design is also identified in the book "The Identification of English Pressed Glass" by Jenny Thompson, page 67.

Size

Measures approx 4 inches tall by 4.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
