Thomas Webb Pair of Victorian Burmese Uranium Glass Rose Bowls

Product Number: WS12696

 Sold / Reference

Description

A wonderful pair of 1890's Victorian Stourbridge glass miniature rose bowls / posy vases. Made in pink + creamy yellow burmese glass, most likely by the British firm Thomas Webb & Sons. Small amounts of uranium in the glass cause them to glow bright green in UV light.

Please note:  Although these vases are obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, they are still classed as a vase.  Small vases like this were often used to hold flowerheads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments.

Size

Measure approx 2.5 inches tall by 2.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
