  • Product Number: WS15353
Product Number: WS15353

 Sold / Reference

Description

A wonderful 1890's Victorian Stourbridge glass vase, with hand painted decoration of leaves and berries. Made in pink + cream burmese glass, by the British firm Thomas Webb & Sons, shallow concave polished pontil mark to base. Similar item are shown in the Thomas Webb section of the book Mt Washington Art Glass plus Webb burmese, pages 57 - 71. Small amounts of uranium in the glass cause it to glow bright green in UV light.

Please note: Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase. Small vases like this were often used to hold flower heads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments.

Please note: the plastic stand is for display purposes only and is not included.
