Description

A wonderful 1890's Victorian Stourbridge glass vase. Made in pink + creamy yellow burmese glass, with hand painted berries and leaves pattern, by the British firm Thomas Webb & Sons. Marked to base "Thos Webb & Sons, Queen's burmese Ware, Patented, Rd 80167". The design number 80167 was registered by Thomas Webb & Sons on 5th September 1887. The same pattern is shown in the Thomas Webb section of the book Mt Washington Art Glass plus Webb burmese, page 61. Small amounts of uranium in the glass cause it to glow bright green in UV light.

Please note: the plastic stand is for display purposes only and is not included.

Please note: Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase. Small vases like this were often used to hold flowerheads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments.
