Sowerby Art Deco 1930s Uranium Green Glass 'Iris' Bowl

Description

A wonderful art deco green glass "Iris" bowl. Made by British company Sowerby in the 1930's, and is shown in their catalogue "List 39", page 10. Small amounts of uranium in the glass mixture cause it to glow bright green under UV light, a harmless and interesting feature which has become very collectable these days.

Size

Measures approx 4 inches tall by 6.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks aside from a few nibbles to the base of the flower frog insert, obviously not visible when on display, and shown in final pictures.
