Murano Faceted, Textured Blue & Amber Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful chunky, and very heavy (2.5kg unpacked), part textured Venetian glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. A generic design made by Mandruzzato and Campanella. Also found with Bucella Cristalli labels. Bucella was a retailer who also had a grinding and polishing business of "rough" pieces supplied by other factories. In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in a band of amber glass, followed by a band of paler blue glass, which is further encased in an angular block of clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 6.5 inches tall by 7 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a few small faint surface scratches, shown in final picture. Please note, in order to show these on camera, I had to catch them in a bright light reflection, which makes them look much worse than they actually are. Under normal conditions they are virtually invisible.
