Isle of Wight Studio / Michael Harris 'Azurene Black' Glass Globe Vase

Description

A beautiful small black glass 'globe' vase with gold and silver leaf inclusions, designed by Michael Harris in collaboration with William Walker in 1978, for his renowned British glassworks Isle of Wight Studio, part of the Azurene pattern range. The base colour is actually a dark midnight blue, which appears black unless held up to the light. Still bears the factory label to the base.

Please note: Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase. Small vases like this were often used to hold flowerheads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments.

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 2.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
