Fratelli Toso Large Murano Copper Aventurine Glass Bowl

Description

Here is a beautiful large and heavy (1.4 kilos unpacked) 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was made by Fratelli Toso, similar items from this range can be seen in the book "Italian Glass: Century 20" by Leslie Pina, pages 168 - 171. In a stunning combination of opalescent white cased glass, with large patches of golden coloured copper aventurine, and a striking yellow band. Still bears the original blue "Murano Glass" label.
