Description

Here is an exquisite 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by AVEM (Arte Vetraria Muranese), part of their "Bizantino" series (more commonly known as "tutti-frutti") which was introduced in 1953. Similar items are shown in the book "AVEM, Arte Vetraria Muranese, Artistic Production 1932 - 1972" by Marc Heiremans (pages 106-109, 209, 218 and 222). Decorated with silver leaf, white Zanfirico lattice filigree, twisted ribbon canes, copper Aventurine, and multicoloured murrines! All of this is surrounded with an outer casing of blue glass. A fabulous item, in a wonderful shape, it catches the light beautifully. Would make an excellent display piece!

Please note: the plastic stand is for display purposes only and is not included.

Size

Measures approx 2.25 inches tall by 6 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a tiny fleabite to the rim, shown in final picture, and a few faint surface scratches, hardly noticeable.
