Dartington #FT224 RARE Frank Thrower Glass 'Candy' Vase

Description

An exceptionally rare and stunning large amber glass 'Candy' floor vase, made by Wood Bros. of Yorkshire for British firm Dartington, and designed by Frank Thrower in 1978, pattern number FT224. Shown in the book Frank Thrower & Dartington Glass by Eve Thrower + Mark Hill, page 55. Also shown on Mark Hill's website [Link], where he mentions it is thought that "only one truck-load was ever made and delivered"! Would make an excellent and unique addition to any collection.

Size

Measures approx 11 inches tall by 5.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a tiny scratch to the inside rim, shown in final picture, and a couple of other faint surface scraches which don't show up on camera, hardly noticeable at all, and only mentioned for complete accuracy of description. Also a couple of small manufacturing air bubbles, common in large blown glass items.
