Sowerby #1544 1920's Iridescent Carnival Glass 'Dolphin' Bowl

Description

A wonderful iridescent purple/amethyst Carnival glass Diving Dolphin's bowl. Made by British company Sowerby in the 1920's, pattern number 1544, first shown in the 1882 catalogue [click here to view]. In the 1920's, this design was adapted into several bowl shapes, with an iridescent finish, and the Imperials Scroll embossed circular pattern to the inside. Reference: [click here].

Measures approx 4.75 inches tall by 8 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of nibbles to the tips of the dolphin "feet", shown in final pictures.
