Barbini Murano Black, White & Gold Leaf Biomorphic Glass Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass ashtray bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Barbini, unmarked, but this design can be found in an old catalogue page of Barbini products for Weil Ceramics & Glass, see photo. In a stunning combination of opaque creamy white glass encased in clear glass, with thick black rim, and loads of gold leaf in the glass to the inside / top.

Measures approx 2.25 inches tall by 6.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, other than a couple of tiny fleabite nicks to the rim, shown in final picture.
