Barovier &Toso Murano Cordonato Oro Goldleaf Glass Lamp

Description

Here is an exquisite large and heavy (2.2 kilos unpacked) 1950/60's Venetian glass lamp, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was made by Barovier & Toso, and possibly designed by the renowned Italian designer Ercole Barovier. This piece is from the 'Cordonato Oro' range. Similar pieces can be seen in the book 'Italian Glass' by Leslie Pina, pages 31 - 32. In a stunning combination of ruby red & clear cased glass, with loads of gold leaf and Controlled Bubbles encased in the glass! Still bears the original manufacturing label on the inside base, see below.

Size

Measures approx 15.5 inches tall (13 not including metal fitting) by 6 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks or restoration. Will need rewiring.
