Description
This is a magnificent 1950's/60's Venetian freeform glass dish, made on the island of
Murano, near Venice, Italy. These bowls are often found with red + gold labels which read
"Vetro Artistico Veneziano". In a stunning combination of green & opaline white encased glass, with
silver leaf inclusions, golden coloured
copper aventurine and multicoloured mottled/speckled canes. Other bowls with the same style of mottled canes can be found with AVEM labels, see
here and
here. For this reason, it is most likely that this range was made by the AVEM factory, for distribution through Vetro Artistico Veneziano.
