TALL Murano Red & Blue Vintage Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

A Venetian organic glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of red glass cased in blue glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. Manufacturer currently unknown.

Several Murano factories have made sommerso glassware in this organic style, including Arte Nuova, Oball, and Formia. Like with most sommerso glass, many inexperienced sellers would attribute this to a Flavio Poli design for Seguso Vetri d'Arte, simply because "that's what everybody else says", but there is no evidence that SVA ever made these (none shown in their factory catalogues) and plenty of evidence that other factories did. If other sellers that often make this mistake read this, please, fix your descriptions, and stop misleading your buyers.
