L Nason / Arte Nuova Murano Sommerso Uranium Glass Vase - Labelled

Description

A Venetian glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Still bears the original L Nason label, which reads "Murano, L Nason, Venezia". Very little is known about L Nason, they could have been a factory or a retailer. Based on the style of glass found with this label, some now think the latter is more likely. This example would support that theory, as the colours and style of this vase strongly suggest the maker to be Arte Nuova / Pustetto & Zanetti. In a stunning combination of green glass encased in uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique. Glows bright green in UV light.

Measures approx 8.75 inches tall by 7 inches in diameter at widest point.
