Murano/Venetian Red & Uranium Sommerso Glass Stem Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful tall Venetian glass stem vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of ruby red glass cased in uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The small amounts of Uranium in the glass cause this vase to glow a brilliant bright green in UV light.

Measures approx 12.5 inches tall by 4.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a few minute fleabites to the inside rim, normal for these items, and shown in final picture. Also mentioned for accuracy, the vase has some very minor internal staining from use, and a slight lean to one side from the manufacturing process.
