Murano Vintage Blue & Uranium Green Sommerso Glass Bowl

Description

This is a magnificent, chunky and very heavy (1.6kg unpacked) 1950/60's Venetian sculptural glass ashtray bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of blue glass encased in uranium green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique. Glows bright green in UV light. Manufacturer unknown, but based on the style and colours, my best guess would be Arte Nuova / Pustetto & Zanetti.
