Murano Faceted Red & Amber Sommerso Glass Block Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This style of glassware is usually attributed to Mandruzzato, although other manufacturers have made similar items, including Oball, Campanella and V. Nason. In a stunning combination of orangey red glass cased in a band of amber glass, which is further encased in an angular block of clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a couple of tiny fleabites to the inside rim, and a small nick to one side edge, all shown in final pictures.
