Empoli 1970's Italian Purple Retro Cased Glass Hooped Vase

Description

A stunning Scandinavian style purple cased glass vase or candle holder with opal white interior casing. Despite the fact that it still bears a very worn label that reads Cristal Murano, I believe this piece was made in the Italian region of Empoli. The style is more fitting for Empoli glassware, and factories from that region were known to sometimes label their products as Murano, a little "white lie" to make them more appealing to buyers or retailers at the time. Interestingly, this design is also very similar to a design by Alfred Taube of Germany.

Measures approx 7 inches tall by 3.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of small surface scratches.
