Isle of Wight Studio / Harris Golden Peacock Glass Globe Vase

Description

A beautiful white glass 'cylinder' vase with purple streaks and gold leaf inclusions, designed by Michael Harris in 1982, for his renowned British glassworks Isle of Wight Studio, part of the Golden Peacock pattern range.  Still bears the original factory label on the base.

Please note: Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase.  Small vases like this were often used to hold flower heads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments. Isle of Wight Studio did also make perfume bottles in this style, but unlike this vase they have the inside rim ground, to create a tight seal with the stopper.

Size

Measures approx 3 inches tall by 2.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
