Iwatsu Japanese 'Hineri' Orange, Blue & Red Rainbow Glass Bowl

Description

A large and heavy (1.6kg unpacked) multicoloured cased glass bowl/ashtray, made in Japan by the Iwatsu glassworks, part of their Hineri range. Often mistaken for Murano glass, but items from this range can be found with labels that read "IW, Hineri, Made in Japan". Consists of orange, red and blue swirls encased in clear glass. Has a shallow concave polished pontil to the base.

Size

Measures approx 5 inches tall by 9 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a small manufacturing air bubble which has lost its surface, shown in final picture, and a couple of minor surface scratches.
