Iwatsu Hineri Japanese Multicoloured Cased Glass Bowl

Description

A multicoloured cased glass bowl/ashtray, made in Japan by the Iwatsu glassworks, part of their Hineri range. Often mistaken for Murano glass, but items from this range can be found with labels that read "IW, Hineri, Made in Japan". Often these were exported by a wholesaler / distributer named Kamei, and are sometimes labelled "Kamei, Made in Japan". Consists of multicoloured swirls encased in clear glass. Has a shallow concave polished pontil to the base.

Size

Measures approx 4 inches tall by 6.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a small nick to the base, shown in final picture.
